A quick note that the studio will be closed Monday, January 26th through Friday, January 30th. I will be checking email periodically at the hotel! Meet M, this morning's 12 day old baby boy. I am so enjoying all the newborns this week! This little guy showed me all his party tricks, I am still doing the laundry! LOL Don't his parents look proud of their little man?
And thank you to my beautiful maternity model A, who agreed to let me practice my seminar lighting skills on her, and use the resulting images for my blog and website! We should all be so beautiful at 36 weeks!
Things are looking a bit different around my blog, as well as my website ( www.karenhunterphotography.com )!!! After 2 years of me using my home-made logo, my wonderful Graphic Designer husband took pity on me and agreed to create a new look for me! I love how fresh and fun it is!

While at my workshop yesterday, I was contacted by the Mom of these two beautiful twin babies. J & A are 12 days old and I am giving them my " Best Babies Ever" award. Three hours and I did not see their eyes open ONCE! Twins are quite tricky as usually one or the other is awake! This session was 85% natural light, which is not my usual preference. I couldn't resist the soft winter light in my window today for some reason! I am having a VERY difficult time narrowing down my faves for this sneak peek!
I spent the weekend in Toronto under the tutelage of one of Canada's leading Baby & Child Photographers, the fabulously talented Heather Rivlin ( www.heatherrivlin.com ) . What a wonderful learning experience! The workshop was all day Saturday and Sunday and was crammed full of information that I have already benefited from! Our little newborn model from Day 1 was 11 days old and just the sweetest baby boy!
Sunday we had 2 yr old M and his big sister R to practice on, such delightful little people with loads of energy! I am usually a big fan of colour, but I must say, Heather's Black and White philosophy really works on these! Mom doesn't have a recent shot of them together, so I hope she will like this one I took!

I am looking forward to trying out some newly acquired skills on tomorrow's 12 day old boy/girl twins!
This handsome little 18 month old boy brought his expectant mommy and his daddy for a joint photo-session today. Love his sparkly blue eyes and GIANT grin! I sure hope to meet his new sibling in a few weeks! I am off to a weekend photography seminar in Toronto, pretty sad that this might be my tropical vacation! Hey, when it's -41 with the windchill, -17 seems balmy!

Feels good to get back to work! My first session of 2009 took place this morning with a perfectly cherubic 6 month old angel! She didn't give us any cheek splitting grins, but I just love these! Isn't that a great Snowman hat Mom brought?
Is it really 2009 already? Wasn't it just yesterday everyone was in a panic about Y2K? LOL
I will be having my first two sessions of 2009 Friday, a 6 month old followed by one of my newborn promotion winners. In the meantime, I got an itchy shutter-finger and my sweet girl obliged me for a quick shot tonight.
