Ever wonder why custom photographers charge what they do for prints?  Here is a great link that may help clarify that!  With custom photography, a lot of time and effort is put into capturing and creating a unique image that reflects your child’s special personality and sparkle.  This explains why no two sessions are ever identical, setting the custom photographer apart from the department store studios. That 8×10 hanging on your wall is worth much more than the paper it is printed on!

It’s that time again! Meet the entrants for this Summer’s Blog Contest!  All participants had to be girls between the ages of 3-8 who hadn’t had a full session with me in the past year. Now, we need you to choose, from these non-professional snapshots submitted by the parents, who YOU would like to see win a free session and package with Karen Hunter Photography. It goes without saying that they are all lovely!  The poll opens May 21st and closes May 28th, so there are 7 days to have all your friends and family stop by and vote! Phew! Finishing up a whirlwind of flying that took me everywhere from Las Vegas to Montreal. And now I finally have some time to start getting caught up. I expect to post the Little Beauties Contest tonight, but in the meantime, here is another handsome one year old boy I shot in between flights last week! He is my little birthday buddy, born on my birthday last year!

More special subjects in the studio today!  T and her big sister A were over for lunch and it turned into a photo session!  Our goal had been to get a matching shot of T to one I had done of A at the same age, in a dress that their mother wore when she was 3 months old. Well, not only did we get that shot, but big sister, who hadn’t been too keen on photos at her one year session, decided today, she wanted her picture done too!  She had a blast dressing up in my tutus! Aren’t they both beautiful?

Two very cute little people came to play today!  One 8 month old girl, and one 6 month old boy! This is the BEST age range to have baby pictures done-once they are sitting, but not walking!  Some of my new favourite images came from these sessions!

Whew!  May has been a very busy month so far, between my real job at Air Canada and of course, all the photography!  I haven’t even had a spare moment to organize the next Blog Contest and post the poll! Bear with me! It’s on my list of things to do!  I will be closing the month of May tomorrow for new bookings as I am just booked solid!

And what’s a post without a photo? Well, meet this handsome little fella who first came to see me at around 12 days, and now is turning ONE!  I had an absolute ball with him, he was the easiest one year old boy I have had! Full of smiles and sweet expressions! My apologies to Mom and Grandma for all the horrible singing! LOL
