Hard to believe it’s already almost the end of May! Spring is easing into summer and with that, comes a flood of requests for outdoor sessions. It is such a nice change of pace to get out of the studio setting and photograph children in the one environment they love best, no matter what the age!
One drawback to outdoor sessions is the unpredictable light/weather. The ideal timing for an outdoor session is an hour after sunrise and an hour before sunset. However, that is either super early ( around 5:40 am right now ) or super late ( 9:15 pm ). The lighting becomes more harsh as the sun gets higher in the sky, so it is best to schedule early morning or early evening sessions on sunny days. If this is not possible, a location which has a lot of open shade would be preferable.
This photo of Chloe was taken at about 8:45 pm, just before the sun was setting:
Welcome to my Official Blog!
I thought it was time to get with the program and create a place for clients, as well as friends and family, to get a sneak peek of sessions I am working on!
After a quiet week last week, things are back to a crazy ( normal ) pace again ! For example, in the next two days, I will have the pleasure of meeting and photographing two newborns ( one boy, one girl ) as well as a sweet little 4 month old boy. I will be posting a few favourites as sneak peeks for the parents to tide them over until I am done proofing!
